China is waging political warfare against the United States as part of a strategy to drive the US military out of Asia and control seas near its coasts, according to a Pentagon-sponsored study. A defense contractor report produced for the Office of Net Assessment, the Pentagon’s think tank on future warfare, describes in detail China’s “Three Warfares” as psychological, media, and legal operations. They represent an asymmetric “military technology” that is a surrogate for conflict involving nuclear and conventional weapons. The unclassified 566-page report warns that the US government and the military lack effective tools for countering the non-kinetic warfare … Continue reading Inside China’s secret three-front war vs. the US
US President Barack Obama’s hegemonic policies regarding Russia are pushing the world into a new war, an analyst writes in a column for the Press TV website. “Obama overthrew the Ukrainian government in order to be able to stuff the country into NATO, throw Russia out of its Black Sea naval base, and put US missile bases in Ukraine on Russia’s border,” Dr. Paul Craig Roberts wrote in a column for Press TV on Saturday. “Obama is angry that his plan didn’t pan out as intended, and he is taking his anger and frustration out on Russia,” he added. The … Continue reading Obama bringing world to brink of World War III: Analyst
by Walter Russell In 21st-century America, the most innocent of activities could have a SWAT team busting down your door. Reason profiles the Harte family, who were the victims of a SWAT home invasion after police raided their garbage cans (h/t Ben Domench). An unreliable field test falsely identified Addie Harte’s trashed teabags as marijuana, and SWAT leapt into action. The Hartes didn’t just suffer the trauma of the raid—they had to spend $25,000 just to find out why they were targeted. America has seen an alarming, and under-reported, increase in SWAT teams doing routine police work, as Radley Balko … Continue reading SWAT Targets Family for Drinking Tea
America’s worst foreign policy decision, whitewashed. by Sheldon Richman I promised myself that I would no longer comment on what Barack Obama has to say, because it’s just not worth the time and effort. Obama’s public remarks are comprehensible only if you keep one thing in mind: he, like other politicians, thinks most people are morons. I am so appalled by what Obama said in Europe the other day, however, that I must break my promise. In his speech he said, regarding events in Crimea, that Russia has pointed to America’s decision to go into Iraq as an example of … Continue reading Obama’s Iraqi Fairy Tale

The Pentagon’s research arm is launching a program to unite existing and future drones into hives, where individual autonomous aircraft will share data and operate together against targets on a battlefield – all while being controlled by one human. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) recently announced that, on April 11, it will hold a “proposer’s day” for its Collaborative Operations in Denied Environments (CODE) program. CODE’s objective is to expand capacity of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, to include “autonomy and inter-platform collaboration.” “Collaborative autonomy has the potential to significantly increase the capabilities of [existing drones] as well … Continue reading DARPA project seeks hive mind for drones

by Alex Hern Friday 28 March 2014 More than four-fifths of the world’s top media organisations, including the Guardian, have been the target of likely state sponsored hacking attacks, according to research from two Google security engineers. Presented at the ongoing Black Hat Asia 2014 conference in Singapore, Shane Huntley and Morgan Marquis-Boire’s research shows that journalists are “massively over-represented” among the targets of state-sponsored hackers. While the pair didn’t go into detail about their methodology, they confirmed to Reuters that Google “tracks the state actors that attack our users”. Those who the company suspects have been the target of … Continue reading Google: 80% of news organisations are targeted by state hackers
By Vittorio Hernandez | March 30, 2014 2:58 AM EST More theories are being floated on the reasons behind the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. One theory cited by Web site Presstv.ir is that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is involved why the ill-fated Boeing 777 is still missing. The Web site pointed out that the 777 is a fly by wire jet whose control system could be remotely piloted by the CIA in case of an emergency. Presstv said it verified that fact with Boeing and commercial pilots. It insists of a cover-up and media’s silence on … Continue reading Malaysian Airline Flight 370: Is There a Cover-Up by the CIA, Malaysian Government?
